Karen Schiedel Employs Expertise in Analysis and Strategic Planning to Achieve Client Relation Success

WATERLOO, ON, CANADA, December 28, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karen Schiedel, PMP, Director of Corporate Systems for Manulife Financial, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Project Management. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Ms. Schiedel has 20+ years of experience in project management/business analysis, and for the last twelve years has served as I.S. Director, in Corporate Systems at Manulife Financial. Her areas of expertise lie in analysis, the identification of complex business problems, strategic planning and implementation. In her leading role at the financial services company, she works as a I.S. liaison for internal business clients focused on governance, risk and compliance. In addition, she provides information technology services as a bridge to clients, and reviews IT perspectives. She is also responsible for managing projects and overseeing a team of five employees.

Attributing her success to her mentors and the leadership within her organization, Ms. Schiedel also credits the fact that a previous leader in human resources put a lot of faith and trust in her, enabling her to reach her current position because of the company's management team recognizing her strong IT skills.
In 2009, Ms. Schiedel earned the title Project Management Professional and received certification from the ITIL Foundation. In the next several years, Ms. Schiedel intends to help her company reach the point where its clients feel that Manulife Financial is a true partner in their business.
