Mary L. Thomas Honored for Excellence in Finance
For more than two decades, Mary Thomas has excelled in all aspects of accounting

DOVER, FL, October 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary L. Thomas, MBA, Staff Accountant for the Performance Food Group, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in finance.

"I was always good with math and numbers," Ms. Thomas says of her motivation to become professionally involved with accounting. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Albany State University in 1989, she established her career and took opportunities that landed her in her current position as a staff accountant for the Performance Food Group, a food service distribution company. Her responsibilities include handling year-end closings, payroll, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and journal entries. In addition, she is instrumental in all aspects of finance for the company. She not only works closely with the vice president of finance and the controller on budgets, but also interfaces with upper management and the sales department.

Ms. Thomas earned an MBA in health care management from Saint Leo University earlier this year, and plans to bring her accounting skills to the health care industry. A people person, she credits her success to her self-discipline and commitment to her profession. She aspires to become a Certified Public Account or Certified Management Accountant in the coming years.
