Laura Ann L. Lauer Brings 25 Years of Legal and Taxation Experience to Freddie Mac


MCLEAN, VA, July 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Laura Ann L. Lauer, Managing Associate Tax Counsel for Freddie Mac, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in the tax field.

A 25-year veteran of the legal profession, Ms. Lauer is recognized as an authority on taxation of debts and derivatives. In 1998, she brought her talents to Freddie Mac, where she is responsible for overseeing debt issuances, hedging transactions, stock offerings, and managing attorneys. Ms. Lauer received her Master of Laws in Taxation in 1989 from Georgetown University, her JD in 1985 from the University of San Diego, and her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1982. She also holds a certification in Latin American Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. She attributes her success to her diligence and love for her profession.

Ms. Lauer is a corporate counsel for the Virginia State Bar, and a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Association of Corporate Counsel. Her honors include a Chairman's Award, a Special Recognition Award, a Superior Performance Award, a Faculty Scholarship Award, and membership to Phi Beta Kappa as a magna cum laude graduate. Her favorite charities include AIDS Research and Habitat for Humanity. Away from work, Ms. Lauer enjoys spending time with her two sons and daughter, and attending their many sporting and school-related events.
